about
My friend Mardi and I recorded this song after our first co-write together. We kept coming back to the theme of people being separated at the most sentimental time of year, Christmas. Whether we're oceans apart or just on other sides of the room, we all crave the connection that could be, if only we take the chance to make it.
Truth is, it's often closer than you think.... and if you're lucky enough to be able to hold it in your hands occasionally, then that's a real Christmas present.
Thanks for all your support this year. This is for you. Big love, Al
lyrics
On my mind, on my mind
All this time, all this time
Oh this star, little star of mine
In this place it’s just so hard to shine
Every waking hour
The sun is rising higher
Light is in your eyes
How can we be apart
This Christmas is not ours
We’re singing this desire; Christmas is not ours
Waiting up for, waiting up for
Saving up for, saving up for
I’m always running out of time
And in this distance we are left behind
Oh, oh, waiting for your call
Home, home half a world away
Every waking hour
The sun is rising higher
Light is in your eyes
How can we be apart
This Christmas is not ours
Every waking hour
The sun is rising higher
Singing this desire
This Christmas is not ours
Christmas is not ours
Christmas is not ours
is not, is not ours
